Whatever it is that you have going on this week, don't forget to make time for yourself. We tend to forget that we are the ones who hold reign over our brakes- even when our lives are going at a rate of 100 mph. 


Ladies, slow. down. 


If you don't intentionally do it, you'll start having issues with your speed of life vehicle that will actually force you to stop and breathe. However, this won't be quite as enjoyable for you because you won't see it as an opportunity to take care of yourself. Rather, you'll see it as a hindrance on your life. You'll allow it to be seen as something that holds you back because your intention to take care of yourself wasn't what caused you to slow down, force was. 


In other words, before you wreck yourself, slow your brakes and breathe. Simplify your life so that you may actually enjoy it. And don't feel bad about making time for you. You are important and you deserve rest and relaxation. Keep one foot on the gas, one foot on the brake, and flow with your energy levels. Work on creating a balanced life that includes rest and relaxation.


The key to all of this? Habit and pattern. On average, it takes about 21 days to create a habit. Seek ways to simplify your life. Make lists of your favorite ideas and incorporate them into your everyday schedule. 


Look at your time commitments and readjust them in ways that allow time for self-care. Seek to be as purposeful & intentional about taking care of you just as you are about anything & everything else. Simplicity brings balance, freedom, & joy; all of the things that God desires for you to experience. And when you live simply, you experience these beautiful and beneficial rewards. Take delight in the very you that God takes the greatest of delight in.
