{"You cannot have a good relationship with anyone, unless you first have it with yourself. Once you have that, any other relationship is a plus, and not a must." -Diane Von Furstenberg}

We read so much nowadays about how to have a healthy relationship with others, but we don't hear nearly as much about the importance of developing a relationship with ourselves.

Ladies, developing a relationship with yourself is one of the the greatest loves of all. It's the best relationship you can have in life, aside from the relationship you have with your Heavenly Father. If you aren't taking care of you, then I can guarantee you are not taking care of others in the fullest of ways that you desire. You must care for your needs. You can start by finding joy in what surrounds you, keeping a special focus on your heart and what it has to say, and setting aside time for yourself. Cultivating a positive relationship with yourself is crucial because it's the only relationship we are guaranteed to have every day of our lives. Be positively present and attentive to your needs. You are STRONG. You are the one who is control of what you do. You are the one who has the power to turn away from negative thoughts and instead focus on positivity and joy. Don't stand in the way of your own self-care. Make room for it! Love yourself. Follow your dreams, be thankful for the good things in life, thrive off your passions, and learn to love yourself in the process. As you do so, the love you grow for yourself will be a love that also draws you in to a deeper and more abundant relationship with God. Taking care of yourself doesn't make you selfish, nor does it take time away from the important things in life. YOU are important and in order to be the best you can be and offer what lies within you to others in its full, you must take care of yourself. Don't take no for an answer. You matter, and regardless of what the world says, you ARE a priority.
