Festive Beauty Fun

Tuesday, December 23, 2014

One thing I love most about the holiday season is that we can play with our beauty looks all we want to. It is a glamorous and festive time of year, and there is no reason why our makeup looks cannot be just as beautiful. Just in case you might need a little inspiration for Christmas, my dear and beautiful friend, Ashlyn Rose, has included three very different looks that she can guarantee to have you looking radiant for the holidays. (All images in this article are from Pinterest)

*Classic Beauty. You can never go wrong with gold and red for Christmas. Sweep a metallic gold shadow on your upper eyelids, as well as the lower lash line. Line the upper lash line only with a black liquid or gel liner. Finish off the eyes with 2-3 coats of mascara. For the lips, be sure to exfoliate them with a toothbrush and apply a little balm to make them smooth and soft. Next, use a nude pink lip liner to keep the lipstick from bleeding. Last, just apply the red lipstick, blot on a tissue, and reapply again. If you want to make your lips matte, all you have to do is tear a sheet of toilet paper into one layer, place it over your lips, and dust a little translucent powder over the paper. This look is festive and glamorous, and just as classic as the old Christmas movies.

*Bold Beauty. This one is for all the girls who love playing with color. It is all about the eyes in this look, so start off with an eye primer, and if you do not have one, just blend a little foundation or concealer on the lid and dust a translucent powder to help keep the shadow from creasing. Next, sweep and blend an emerald green shadow all across the lid, into the crease, and on the lower lash line. Finish with a black eye liner on the upper lash line and top it off with mascara. Since the eyes are the main focus, use a soft pink cheek and lip color to keep the look from becoming too clownish.

*Natural Beauty. If bold colors are not your thing, a natural look can be just as beautiful. Simply sweep a metallic bronze or a chocolate brown all over the upper eye lid and crease, and be sure to blend it all out. Then, just line the upper lash line with black liner and apply lots of mascara. The best part about this look is that you can use any cheek and lip color you want. Whether you want nude lips with bronze cheeks, or pretty pink cheeks and lips, it will all look beautiful. This look is not super heavy or bold, but it will still make you shine throughout all your holiday celebrations.
