{"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts." -Colossians 3:15}

As a young boy, Samuel heard the voice of God calling him. This is a pretty big deal because during these days the word of the Lord was "rare" (1 Sam. 3:1). After running to Eli three times, he helped Samuel to see that it was the Lord that had been trying to talk to him all along, not Eli. {Read the rest of the story in 1 Samuel 3}

Have you ever struggled with hearing the voice of God or trying to discern whether or not God was trying to tell you something or if it was just your imagination?

Although we cannot always discern God's will for our lives, we can certainly tune our eyes, ears, and hearts to be open and fine tuned to the ways in which He desires to reveal Himself to us.

••Prepare yourself for promptings by cleaning your spirit. If you've had a tugging on your heart before to give or do something for someone, it's most likely because God was using you for the greater good of the Kingdom. Keep your spirit clean and focus on growing into the character of God that your Maker created you to be. The more developed +and in tune you are, the greater He'll prompt you.

••Believe and desire. Believe that you are a called, chosen, + adopted child of the kingdom + express your desire to be used by and for God to Him in prayer. Ask the Lord to reveal Himself to you in ways that you have yet to experience and to help further train you in discerning His voice. God can speak in any and every way...He has no limits, so don't put any on Him. Keep your desire alive and believe in the majestic works of God wholeheartedly. Don't let doubt cloud your vision or hearing. God is at work in your life in unimaginable and intangible ways.
