How to Live an Authentic Life: Day 4: Cleanse, Clear, + Renew

Every once in a while, it's important to clear the clutter in our minds. Whether it's too much junk, judgment, or negativity, your mind deserves to be cleaned out + given a fresh, new slate. With the New Year in hand, we have a perfect time to do just that. Here are some ways to cleanse, clear, + renew your mind.

1) Feed your mind + spirit with the Word of God instead of the garbage of this world. Nothing else should matter except for what God has to say. And ladies, you are ALL God says you are. Be transformed by the renewing of your mind (Romans 12:12).

2) Draw near to God + ask Him to cleanse your heart. "Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me," (Psalm 51:10). As your heart gets clean, your words, actions, + thoughts should follow. Let the Lord transform your mind into a place of comfort + kindness instead of one full of negativity + constant complaints.

3) Repent. Sins done in the dark places of the world are sins done in the light before God. Hidden sins will destroy your life. Clean out your spiritual closet by confessing your sins to God + seek someone who can help you overcome whatever it is that you are struggling with. You are a conqueror (Romans 8:37)!

4) Have a rendezvous with a friend. Catching up with a good friend guarantees laughter and excitement- both of which can reduce our stress levels. Our friendships give us a deep sense of community and remind us that we are not in this life alone. We need each other, ladies (Psalms 133:1)!

5) Let the Son shine. The number one thing that God desires the most from you is a relationship. He wants to be involved in your walk of life- every major + minor detail of it. Open your heart + let Him in. There is no better life than a life lived with God (1 Corinthians 1:9).
