One of the most rewarding things we can do in order to to help us gain strength, confidence, and contentedness along our walk with God is to get ourselves into the habit of spiritual breathing. Spiritual breathing is an exercise done with an intent to exhale the bad and inhale the good.

As you exhale, confess your sins, worries, doubts, frustrations (and whatever else you may need to release) to the Lord. As you do this, remind yourself that the One who hears + sees all hears + sees you. And the One whose grace + mercy + forgiveness is endless will show these things upon you as you humble yourself before His throne to confess the burdens of your heart.

"This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us." -1 John 5:14

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." -1 John 1:9.

As you inhale, surrender the entirety of who you are into the hands of Who you belong to. Allow God to lead your life and empower you throughout it as you continue to place it in His hands.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." -Proverbs 3:5-6.

"And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you." -Psalm 9:10

There is no limit as to how often you should practice this exercise. Get into the habit of training yourself to do this + challenge yourself to make this a daily discipline. Confessing + surrendering is the epitome of authentic. It is in these moments that we are real + raw before God. So take what you learn from this experience + incorporate it into the authentic life you desire to live.
