"Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person." -Colossians 4:5-6

Being fully present with others is so important. Here are a few reasons why:

1.) You can't replace the presence of another person. The time that you spend with others is invaluable because it's irreplaceable. Don't take this precious gift for granted.

2.) Your presence has power. You may or may not ever know what kind of impact your presence has on someone. But your presence has power, and you must use this power for the good of others that surround you. Give them not one ear, but two. Be focused on diving into the moment that you are in. Put your phone in your purse and your thoughts on pause. Conversations can be healthy, rich, and good if you live in the moment of them. //

3.) We were created for commUNITY. Distractions don't bring harmony + unity, but

acknowledgement does. Bring your acknowledgement to the table and let people know they matter. Give them your time and let them know they have it by showing them your undivided attention. We are called to be unity builders. If we don't fully participate in the work of community, we won't get anywhere. Start building it and let the Lord take you to Kingdom places that need the fully present human being in you.
