The solid rock of a lasting relationship is Jesus. Nothing and noone else.

God’s intention for relationships never once revolved around self-gain, but self-giving. To the world, self-giving looks a lot like giving your body away much too soon. But to the Father, self-giving means exhibiting your love for one through acts of selflessness, speaking your words from a place of purpose and good intention, and showing grace- even when it hurts. Self-giving means to be a reflection of the closest depiction of God’s love that you can be. And it’s not just your job to be this way. It’s your significant other’s job too. And ladies, if I’m sure of one thing it’s this: You can only love in this way when your heart belongs to God. Do not place yourself in a relationship that is not good for you.

I know what that’s like; living in denial and pouring your everything into it, only to get hurt in the end. This is the easiest way to heartbreak. Ladies, it is your job to refuse to settle.

Be patient and wait for the type of guy you deserve; the type of guy who desires to live out of the same place of love for you that you desire to live out of for him; a love that can only come from the Lord; a love that you should experience and embrace for yourself; a love that was made for you.

This love bears good, lasting fruit. You are not an ordinary being, so don’t settle for someone who treats you like one. You are special, prized, and cherished in the eyes of the Lord. Wait for the one who will cherish you with the same love that God does. Wait for the one who will show his love for you though acts of selflessness, speak his words from a place of purpose and good intention, and show grace- even when it hurts. Wait for the one who is just as serious about commitment as you are and can mutually reciprocate everything you desire to pour into your future marriage. Wait for the one whose foundation is Jesus Christ. Waiting for the one is not a waste of time, so don’t treat it like it is. Waiting for the one is a gift and will greatly reward you once you find him. Pray for the patience to hold out for him, and pray the same prayer over your future spouse.

You can do this. You can do this. You can do this.
