For the wages of sin is death. Sometimes I think we get stuck in the beginning part of Romans 6:23. Never moving beyond the curse of our sins to the promise of hope, the gift Jesus purchased for each of us with His own blood.

It’s useless, we think. We’ll never be free of the sins of our pasts, or even the habits and behaviors that we feel trap and hold us down now. Cursed with shame, doomed to repeat history. Our enemy loves nothing more than to see us broken, paralyzed by guilt and fear, unable to move forward.

But Jesus our Lord is a Liberating King who seeks to bind the broken and heal the hopeless! God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant. -Romans 5:20

God doesn’t wish to point out our sins to curse us, but rather to show our great need for a Savior. Sisters, what you have DONE does not define who you ARE. When you are united with Christ, you are a new creation, and His mercies are freshly available to you each and every morning.

So let us step boldly to the throne of grace, where we can find mercy and grace to help when we need it most. -Hebrews 4:16

Go to your Savior today. He’s waiting for you.
