Guess what? I am pregnant...with purpose. And so are you. We are all born with gifts and we all birth our purpose. It's a funny way of looking at pregnancy, isn't it? I am not talking about our main purpose (which is to have a deep relationship with God and spread the gospel to others). I am talking about that one passion that burns a bright flame within you. It's the passion within you that's so grand you even have dreams about it. God has given you a vision for this passion.

Congratulations, chosen one. You have become pregnant with purpose.

When women get pregnant, they eat more. They feed their bodies. When you become pregnant with a God given purpose, you feed your spirit. You read the Word more. You pray more. You go to church more. You cannot get fed enough. Just like many women tend to freak out when they find out that they are pregnant, we freak out at times when God says, I want you to do this with your life.

Pregnant women might question themselves with, "I am not sure I can do this" or "I'm not ready.

Do we tell God similar things when He has called us to do something?

Sometimes it takes months and sometimes it takes only a matter of days. But, despite the time it takes to bring it to life, each of you have something inside of you that is meant for you to do. It is meant to be cared for so that it becomes new life when it is being launched out!
An example we have is Mary, who became pregnant with the son of God. I am sure she struggled with fear and worry. She faced ridicule and was willing to sacrifice her reputation. She risked losing Joseph, the man she loved. She gave birth in a stable and not a hospital. Think of how unbearable it must have been at times.

However, if Mary had not been willing to take those risks, she would have lost the best thing that happened to her, Jesus. She knew the unbearable pain and struggles were worth it. If not for her dedication and endurance, we would have not had a Savior. Her purpose was actual birth.

What is it God has called you to do? Do you know what it is? It does not have to be ministry. It could be something completely different. Maybe start a business or write a book. Maybe even doing something no one has ever done before. After all, God is the source of creativity. Or perhaps, maybe it is actual birth. Motherhood can be the biggest purpose of your life.

You might not have this type of clarity for your life yet. I urge you to pray, seek and ask God what it is, because I guarantee He desires to reveal it to you.  Most importantly, if He has put this on your heart, do NOT give up.  Sometimes going after a goal deprives us of our sleep and even our sanity. We will not stop until we achieve the goal. I am not suggesting you literally give up sleep, food and especially your sanity. But I am saying..go for it! God's will added with our determination will result in such fulfillment in Him that it will take the place of any relationship and anything else.

I know that diving in deep takes faith and risk. But if you have such faith to take Jesus' hand, you would be able to walk on water and not worry about the waves. If you concentrate and keep your focus on Him, you can get through the delivery room. He will be there every step of the way holding your hand while you go through the pain.

Lastly, I will say to you what the angel of the Lord said to Mary during that time. "Do not be afraid; you have found favor with God."

When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come, but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. -John 16:21

It may feel heavy. The weight might feel like a burden, but hold onto this Scripture.

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. -Matthew 11:28-30
