The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. -Psalm 118:22

My toddler daughter beats fiercely on her daddy’s chest, rebelling against his loving correction, angry he won’t let her touch the hot oven. So it is with us, beating our tiny fists against the chest of an almighty God, wanting so desperately to throw ourselves into the fire. Then, we see. When grace has taught our hearts to fear, we realize His ways are higher. Christ, the once rejected cornerstone, has been given a place of utmost prominence. He is the glistening, beautiful foundation of everything. A loving Redeemer, who took our punishment and pain as His own and offers us His righteousness instead. Friends, that is the Gospel. Jesus, rejected by the world, was accepted by God as a perfect sacrifice for our sin. Stop beating your sin-stained, sticky toddler hands against the chest of a loving God. Come into His embrace as a child comes to her Father.
