Peace. This is a rare and special word that is as full of strength as it is calm. It is a delicate state of being that we seem to be in a constant battle to find, and once found we are in a constant battle to maintain.

The cares of this world are great, and the demands are unending. School is overwhelming, work is stressful, and relationships are complicated. The pull and tug comes from every direction, but we are to seek peace in the midst of it all.

It seems unreasonable, and maybe even unattainable. It's dreaming the impossible dream. Yet that's exactly where God wants us. He wants us in peace, and ultimately, in order to grasp such tranquility, He wants us to abide more closely in Him.

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. -Isaiah 26:3 (ESV)

Cast your cares upon Him. Surrender. Release yourself from the pressure of all that threatens to distract and destroy. Allow our brilliant God to supply your every need and provide you with the peace that surpasses all understanding.

He is faithful. He is good. His peace is yours when you choose to lean in, sit close, and believe.
