We are our Father's daughters.

The moment when you realize you are your mother. The look, the words spoken from your mouth, although both may be unrecognizable from your own glance, you know what I mean. The "I sound like my mother moment." For some of us, this moment possesses mixed emotions. Maybe you have strived to be your mothers daughter all along. Perhaps being like your mother is your greatest ambition, or perhaps you may not have the greatest relationship. Maybe the woman your mother was failed you and caused you deep pain. I lost my mother at a young age, 20. I barely knew who I was when she left this earth. I feel the lack of her presence more and more as I see her reflection in the mirror. In both pain and goodness, I see my mom come through. These memories bring up wells for some, deep wells. Beloved, you have been chosen. Regardless of your relationship with your earthly mother or father, you are accepted and have been adopted into the family of God! Reflect Him as His beautiful and fearless daughter.

To the praise of the glory of his grace, by which he made us accepted in the beloved. -Ephesians 1:6 (NKJV)

For you did not receive that spirit of bondage again to fear, But you received the spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba father." The spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. And if children, then heirs--heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ. -Romans 8:15-17 (NKJV)
