Identity (n.):

1) The state or fact of remaining the same one, as under varying aspects, or conditions
2) The condition of being oneself or itself and not another
3) Condition or character as to who a person or what a thing is.

My favorite synonym for the word identity is existence. Our state of remaining the same person, in any circumstance, should be that of a Child of God. Our identity should be that of Christ Jesus.

The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs-heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. -Romans 8:16-17

The God that created the Earth; the God that rose from the death to life; the God that broke the chains of sin...this God calls you worthy; beautiful; desired; adored; cherished. Ladies, you are loved and protected by God. No matter what the world tells you, you are a daughter of the King. This is your identity. No matter what circumstances you find yourself in, you are a Child of God.

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present or the future, nor powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God, that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. -Romans 8:38-39

When God died on the cross and poured out His blood for us, He was making us His sons and daughters. No longer sinners, no longer filled with shame, no longer dead, and no longer prisoners of this world.

That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Our existence, our whole being is because of King Jesus. All we have and all we are and all that we will become is because of Him.

All there is left to do is believe. Believe what your true identity is and begin to live your life that way.

About the Author

Christian Fisher is eighteen years old and lives in Atlanta, Georgia. However, her heart lies wherever there are tall skyscrapers and sidewalks overflowing with people. Her first love is her Lord and Savior. She has given Him her every move and waits on Him daily to whisper into her heart (even though sometimes it sounds more like a roar). Christians second love is coffee, preferably in a cozy café with towers of Bible commentaries spread out on the top of the table. Christian is a bit sassy but passionate in spreading the love of God to everyone she encounters.
