Daily Delight

There are times I feel myself moving beyond the daily thirst for Jesus and coming to a place where I am panting for Him. I am in a desperate desire to be in His presence and there is this unseen barrier preventing me to move into that place. I am distracted by my discomfort in the seat, my tiredness of the day, or whatever it may be.

I know full well that scripture says nothing will be able to separate us from the love of God (Romans 8:39, TNIV), but sometimes I think we are so distracted from coming into His presence that we put up these fake walls. Our Lord is constantly trying to grab our attention, but we are so inwardly focused that we miss it. We think He is not there because we cannot feel Him in a particular moment, but all He asks is that we look up because He is waiting right there in front of us.

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities - His eternal power and divine nature - have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. - Romans 1:20 (TNIV)

He is waiting for us to look up. He is waiting for us to see His creation, which screams of His glory and His love. He speaks His love through the wind and He shows us His glory through the rising sun.
The beginning of Matthew 17 tells a story of Jesus and his closest disciples going to the top of a mountain and there Jesus is transfigured to where His face shown like the sun, and His clothes became as white as light – Matthew 17:2 (TNIV)

The disciples had fallen to the ground and When they looked up they saw no one except Jesus. – Matthew 17:8 (TNIV)

My prayer is that when we look up we will see that Jesus is standing and waiting right there in front of us.
