Remember the story of the tortoise and the hare? The hare was all about living life in the fast lane, relying on his speed to get him to the finish line before the rest. The tortoise on the other hand, understood that the race is not to the swift (Ecclesiastes 9:11), and in the end he was victorious.

I've definitely been guilty of having the hare’s mentality. It's far more appealing to move forward, full speed ahead, than risk missing something or being left behind.  In addition, our society often equates speed with success, devaluing the sometimes lengthy process that gets you to the goal you are aspiring for.

There will be times that you accomplish what you set out to do, exactly when you set out to do it, but more often than not this is simply not the case. This doesn’t mean that you are doing something wrong or that God isn't faithful. We must learn to be patient and trust God’s timing.

For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay. -Habakkuk‬ ‭2:3‬ ‭(ESV)‬‬‬‬

What is your vision, your goal, or dream? Whether you can reach out and touch it, or it seems a thousand miles away, God’s helping hand will guide you in the process. Hang on sweet sister. Don't compare and don't despair. Run the race He has given you and the triumphant outcome is yours.
