Few things hurt me more than being misunderstood. Sometimes my words are taken out of context or misconstrued. Or my actions are misinterpreted and misjudged. I know I'm far from perfect, but when people look at me and don't really see me, it leaves me feeling sad and unsure.

The enemy loves using these opportunities to plant seeds of turmoil and doubt, especially when you simply want to be seen for who you truly are. Too often fear takes hold and our default is putting on a façade. This way, instead of getting hurt we can choose only to display the shallow surface we want others to see, forgetting about the One who sees us completely. "Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and He is the one to whom we are accountable," (Hebrews‬ ‭4:13,‬ ‭NLT‬‬‬‬). He knows our thoughts and sees our hearts. There's no risk in putting our real selves before Him, because His acceptance doesn't change based on our missteps or the perceptions of others. The thought of being exposed can be replaced with the comfort of His unconditional love. He sees us where we are, and He loves us just the same.
