Growing up an introvert and only-child, I was labeled quickly from a young age. I was labeled as shy, quiet and anti-social. Sometimes people assumed I was stuck up or not smart because I wasn't outspoken. As I grew older, I tried to break out of that label that was placed on me. I wanted to be fun and outgoing. I thought if I put myself in those "fun" atmospheres, around people who were cool, then I wouldn't be labeled as the goody good. But in those situations, making terrible choices, I just felt more alone and shy rather than outgoing like my peers.

I realized there's a difference in forcing yourself to be someone you're not and being brave enough to lean on God and become who you are meant to be. I stopped letting what others saw me as define who I was called to be. I began to seek God and grow into who He called me to be. I began to be okay with who I am and I found my self-worth in the Lord. I allowed God to make me brave and I began to embrace His plan for my life.

Today it doesn't bother me when people try to label me or define me, because I already know Who wrote my story and who He's called me to be. So I encourage you to not let the labels that others force on you, define who you are. Let God define you and work towards the calling he has blessed you with, every single day.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. -Ephesians 2:10
