Are you feeling distanced from God? Is it because you feel unworthy, unloved, or unforgiven? Maybe forgotten? You are not alone in this struggle. Have you been running from God? Do you feel covered in shame? What does God think of you?

I can assure you His eyes are only full of love for you. Longing that you would believe He is who He says He is. That is: loving, gracious, compassionate, and merciful. His love is unconditional. His mercies new each morning. He pursues you with an everlasting love.

When the prodigal son took his father's inheritance and squandered it in wild living, he found himself poor and hungry, eating pig’s food. When he eventually came to his senses and wanted to return home to His Father, he said he would tell his Father, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants,” (Luke 15:18-19, NIV). But when his Father saw him still a while off he was filled with compassion and ran to greet him. He was overjoyed his son had come home. He hugged and kissed him.

The Father said to his servants, "Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found," (Luke 15:22-24, NIV).

This is the Father we have. We can never out run His grace. He remembers our sins no more. He chooses to love us. Each and every day, for eternity.

And maybe you've been rejected by someone you love. Maybe they counted your faults against you. Maybe you were always trying to win their approval. Maybe it was your own earthly father and so It seems hard to believe in a Heavenly Father who loves unconditionally and runs to greet you with compassion.

But He is love. It is in His character. He doesn't care where you've been or what you have done. He's waiting to embrace you and rejoice. He hasn’t forgotten you: He’s been waiting every day watching out the window, patiently awaiting your return home.
