Now the Lord came and stood and called as at other times, "Samuel! Samuel!" And Samuel answered, "Speak, for Your servant hears,"( 1 Samuel 3:10, NKJV).

Samuel was called several times unknowingly by God. Notice that the Lord didn't reveal His plans to him until Samuel answered willingly, ready to hear the words of God. As women of Christ, we must learn to be still before God with ears to hear. Oftentimes we mean to listen, but instead we bring forth our own agendas and take over all the talking. God's ways are higher than ours-- so much so, that they aren’t even in the same ball park. Just like many of you, I desire God to use me by His means and not my own. I want to bring people into the kingdom and speak light into this dark, dark world. In order to do this I need to be in sync with the Father's heart, allowing Him to use me for His purposes, and simply be a willing vessel. The only way I can accomplish this is by quieting everything within me and listen for my Savior calling, Eva! Eva!

We are daughters of delight who God wants to use mightily in our homes, in our workplaces, in our families, even in the body of Christ, but we must first be properly equipped. To get equipped, we need divine direction and guidance from the words that He longs to put in our hearts and minds. We serve the same God as Samuel. Let’s take his lead and say to the Lord, “Speak, for your servant hears.”
