Frequently I catch myself comparing my style, my body image, my success, and my creativeness with the women around me. I have realized that comparison not only shows my lack of confidence but it reveals my brokenness. The reason we compare ourselves to others is because deep inside we are dissatisfied. It is a heart issue. It’s a silent confession that admits we are not satisfied with how God made us, or where he placed us. Comparison will take away our joy and make us forget the blessings we have. The only way we can break free of comparison is by finding our hope and identity in Christ.

Those who know the saving power of Christ have been given a whole new identity.

You are chosen people, a holy nation. God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light, (1 Peter 2:9 NIV).

No longer am I the girl whose identity rests in what I do or who I am. Instead my heart rests in the fact that I have been adopted into the family of God, have been rescued from sin, and have Jesus walking beside me everyday telling me He loves me exactly how I am!
