We can sometimes get caught up in trying to find our worth somewhere other than in Christ alone. And I believe this usually results in us reducing our purpose down to something much smaller than what it is. Sometimes I find myself desiring so much to know that I am making a difference. I want the assurance that what I do matters. But I realized that I’m missing the point. It was never about who I can be or what I can do but how wonderful our God is. It's about how magnificent He is for even giving me the privilege of being used by Him. Therefore, my unrecognized efforts are never a waste when I commit them to glorify the Only One who is worthy.

We were made for the most beautiful purpose: to reflect the Glory of our Heavenly Father. What a privilege that is! What an honor it is! We are made to shine! To bask in God’s glory- declaring His holiness and His beauty by the way we live our lives. We are mirrors reflecting the infinite beauty of a Glorious God! We are masterpieces declaring the goodness of our God who created us and created all things!

And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
-2 Corinthians 3:18 (NIV)

We were made in the image of God so that we may reflect His Glory. In whatever we do, we have the ability to glorify God. In our homes, in our communities, at work, at school, with our bodies, with our speech- all of these things are a chance to gratefully immerse ourselves in the magnificent opportunity of reflecting God’s Glory. We were made to shine with His glorious light!
