The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shone.- Isaiah 9:2 (ESV)

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.- Matthew 5:14 (ESV)

During this season, we celebrate the coming of the Messiah. Emmanuel, God with us, has come. Peace on earth. A Great Light shinning in the darkness. Jesus.

He came to save us. He came to bring hope. He came to shine light on this dark world, so that we may know the Truth. We are fallen, broken, sinful, and without hope…but Christ has lifted us up, healed us, declared us righteous, and filled us with joy.

He came once as a Humble King to lay down his life. He has ascended to Heaven to prepare a place for us. He will come again as Righteous Judge to gather His Bride and make all things new.

As we celebrate His first coming, we eagerly await His return. He has left us with His Spirit and has commissioned us to shine His light in this dark world. As Christians, we bear His name in a lost and hurting world. We are to shine bright. We are to bring Hope. We are to love. We are to give. Just as the star of Bethlehem pointed others to the newborn King, we are to fearlessly point others to the soon coming Savior. Do not try to hide the Light living inside of you. We live with unveiled faces, brightly shining forth the Shekinah glory of our King!
