With the Christmas season coming and going it's easy for me to mirror my emotional experiences with some of the ones Mary and Joseph had.

Joseph, a newly engaged man, finds out that his significant other, Mary, is pregnant by a baby that is not his own. Naturally he would become anxious, scared, doubtful and desperate for a miracle. (Matthew 1:18-25 NIV)

In my own life these are my reactions when I am faced with something I cannot control.

During these trying times what we need is True Peace. However, true peace is not momentary. Biblically it can't be acquired by acts of goodness. It isn't just the absence of these "negative emotions", but the presence of someone much more.

To know True Peace you must know Jesus.
True Peace is a person. The presence of Jesus. His reconciliation towards us. The forgiveness of our sins. The unconditional love and comfort towards us. "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33 NIV

What is robbing you of your joy and peace?
