Choose joy.

Last year was one of the most challenging times I’ve yet experienced. I walked through the valley and wasn’t quite sure when I would see and stand upon the mountain peak again. During this time, God taught me how to choose joy even through tears and heartache. He taught me how to give thanks even when it was hard to focus on the blessings. He also, taught me how to pray and talk to him in the midst of having a battered and weary heart. Wherever you are at in life on this day, remember that there are a plethora of reasons to see joy. Jesus Himself saw the joy set before Him as He endured the cross. What exactly did He see when He saw the cross? He saw me, He saw you, forgiven. He saw His beautiful bride, His beloved daughters dwelling with Him for an eternity. Talk about joy in my soul. This is our reality. Nothing in life, no matter how dismal or bleak can take that away.

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
-1 Thessalonians 5:17-18

This is His will for us today, and the days to follow. Rejoice, pray, give thanks and watch as God transforms your heart and mind to see the valley lows and mountain highs through His lenses. You will go forth with singing and praise because God is so completely good to us.
