I’ve been thinking... “How do I discover more of Jesus in this season that celebrates His birth?” It can be difficult to see Jesus in the midst of all the presents, food, and family get-togethers. But I’ve realized more and more that we can see Jesus in everything. We don’t have to look too far to see His beauty in the simple parts of our lives and in the traditions of the season.
When we feel alone in this season because our loved ones are no longer with us or because our singleness is difficult: Jesus is our constant companion.
When we are faced with being around people who push our patience: Jesus is overwhelmingly patient with us and we can be transformed by the love and patience He consistently shows us.
When we feel unloved and we don’t know how to show love to someone in our lives: Jesus’s love for us can capture our hearts and satisfy every longing so we may then pour into others.
When we feel discouraged by the circumstances of our lives or by the daunting tasks ahead: Jesus is the hope of the world and hope for all of our situations.
And when we get caught up in the giving and receiving of gifts: Jesus is the greatest gift anyone could ever receive. He is our salvation and everything we could ever need. He is the indescribable gift- the King of the world that humbly took on the cross that we may be given life.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. -Romans 6:23(KJV)
Therefore, the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. -Isaiah 7:14(KJV)
