Daily Delight

My grandmother has been staying at my parents home this whole month, and every single day she turns on the news. It's hard for the media to highlight anything positive in today's society. Someone is always (very publicly) putting someone else down, there's usually a riot, boycott or protest being featured and it had me thinking; "What are we doing to uplift one another?"

Ephesians 4:29 says, "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen," (NIV).

To preserve the world and to build up the kingdom of God, our Lord wants us to build up others rather than tear them down. God's will for us is to help others become more than they ever thought they could be. When we help others we need to remember to help them according to their need, not according to what we want them to need or think they should need. Do all in your power to see things the way others see them.

When you speak, what you say should be what Christ would say to help others, to heal them, and to bring them into wholeness and spiritual prosperity.
