We have been called to extraordinary things. Not because of who we are or what we bring to the table but because God calls us. There is great power given to those who step out in faith, to those who point to the mountains and command them to move in His name. I look at people like Moses or Joshua who needed the affirmation from God that they were able. I ask, how could they hear the voice of God command His will for them and then question His ability to accomplish it through them? Don't they know the story ends in victory? They didn't know for certain, they had to trust in God's promise. They didn't have the full picture that showed the people entering the promised land or the walls of Jericho crumbling down in defeat. With big callings and being mere men, it was no wonder they needed the extra push.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. -Joshua 1:9 (NKJV)

When God calls us the fear of failure, disappointment and rejection rises up. We fear that perhaps God asked the wrong person. God doesn't call the Joshua's because they are mighty in and of themselves but rather they are willing to be the vessels. They are willing to allow a manifestation of His Spirit to carry out the extraordinary. There is the power of the living God dwelling inside of us. It is His strength in us that drives the impossible. He will equip and guide His people just as He has done so many times before. If we stay by the waters edge or dabble our toes while contemplating the dive in, we may miss the magnitude of what our lives were created for. I urge you to go to wherever it is He is calling you and remember to be strong and of good courage.
