"Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised." -Job 1:21 (NIV)

Do those words sound like those of someone who has just been told of great pestilence that has struck his household, destroyed all his property and killed his children? Certainly not. But Job was ‘that kind of guy’ right? You know, the extra positive people who praise God regardless of anything. Truth is, we are called to be ‘those kind of people’. Back in high school, my friends told me I needed to stop complaining. It was a deep-seated response to situations for me so I ended up being defensive… it was them who were in denial of reality, not me! Was I not allowed to express my sorrow and disappointment then praise Him when I came out victorious? Pessimism is a trait of the fallen world. Nowhere in the Word does it say ‘expect the worst at all times’. Instead, it says…rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say rejoice! Praise regardless of your situation and rather than asking ‘‘why me?’’ thank God for storms as they make trees take deeper roots.

Praise needs to be laced in everything we do.
In everything He is good thus in everything we give thanks.

"Let praises rise from the inside of me to my eternally glorious King. I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth." -Psalm 34:1 (AMP)
