Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. – 2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV)
We live in a completely imperfect and broken world with an undoubtedly perfect and good God. A God that gave us His one and only son to save us from our unrighteousness. The death of Jesus is the most beautiful act of love. He is our light of resurrection.
So often I try to hide my imperfections. My biggest disbelief is thinking that I can’t show my weakness to others. I always try to carry a smile on my face to hide any ugliness in me. My sins make me think that I am unworthy of His love. And so many times I ask myself how He still loves me.
The truth is, through our sins. God is calling us His poetry; He is calling us flawless, saying we are spotless, loving us for our imperfections. In His eyes we are His daughters. Because of His faithfulness we are dead to sin and alive in Christ. He is the anchor of our souls.
I can clearly hear Him asking me, ”Priscilla, if you can’t be transparent and show yourself weak, how will you reflect My love? How will you acknowledge Me as I renew your soul?” When the wages of sins take hold of your mind, let His Grace flow through you like an endless stream. This Easter, I want to encourage you to take time to rest in Jesus and be transformed by His love.
Today I am praying Psalm 51:10 (NIV) over each of you: Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
