Jesus, King of Kings and Lord of Lords, is risen from the dead.
Faithfully resurrected in order to accomplish His saving plan, Jesus steps out of the tomb.
Jesus, the One who came to this earth to live with us, is the One who truly sacrificed the perfect life in Heaven in order to be one with us. He wanted to serve and to love. Jesus, our King, came so that way we could have life.
But then Jesus did something nobody expected.
He died.
This shocking action terrified His friends and closest followers. He did mention something about rising, but nobody truly understood what was happening.
It was frightening and scary.
But then the third day happened, and Jesus surprised them all again.
Jesus rose from the grave.
Jesus rose from the dead early on the first day of the week, (Mark 16:9, NIRV).
The King of Kings and Lord of Lords was not dead anymore, but alive! Truly, spirit filled and breath-full, Jesus was alive. Imagine the excitement of His friends!
Peter rose and ran to the tomb; stooping and looking in, he saw the linen cloths by themselves; and he went home marveling at what had happened. -Luke 24:12 (ESV)
Peter’s reaction was beautiful.
Do we ever marvel at Jesus the Risen King? Do we marvel and cry out in prayer? Jesus, how much You marvel us. How much You renew our faith daily by Your love. How powerful and beautiful Your glory is. You are faithful, You are Risen.
How do we live when we know our savior is risen? How do we act?
Do we run like Peter did and investigate for ourselves how glorious Jesus works? Do we put our faces up to the linen cloths and examine the mysterious glory? Do we marvel?
Jesus, how amazing and great You are. How glorious! You, our Risen Savior, are our King. We will praise You. We will run and marvel and we will love like you love and serve like you.
Jesus, You are faithful.
Let us become alive and renewed because of the promise Jesus gives us by His example.
We are resurrected bodies. We were dead, but now (because of Jesus and His goodness) we are alive.
Praise Jesus!
He is faithful, He is glorious.
Jesus is risen.
And so are you.
