Daily Delight

But he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. -2 Corinthians 12:9-10.

Living a perfect life does not go hand in hand with becoming a Christian. We will still face trials and tribulations in this lifetime. Being a part of a sinful world with other sinful beings means we will endure difficult times. We will make mistakes and continuously fall short of the perfect example of Jesus. However, it is through these times that we can remind ourselves and others of Christ’s power over our lives and of his oh so sufficient and beautiful grace.

Grace is a love that seeks us when we have nothing to give or offer in return.
The Father is the ultimate distributor of this great love called grace. It is a love that is shown and expressed even when we are unlovable. His grace is more than a second chance; it is a third, fourth, fifth, and sixth chance that never ends. In our world today, it can be challenging to wrap our minds around a never-ending and eternity-lasting concept because of all the failure and finish lines we experience in this journey of life. Schooling ends. Jobs end. Relationships end. Friendships end. There are numerous areas of our lives that have an ending, but we must not bring the Lord down to our earthly level. His grace never ends, and He will always wash us clean when we humble ourselves before Him and ask for the forgiveness and love we do not deserve.

The power of His grace has the ability to turn despair into hope. Through the Father’s compassion and kindness, our discouragement and despair can be transformed into endurance and encouragement. When we are broken, hurt, and confused; Jesus is there with an outstretched hand asking us to grab hold to experience the Father’s comforting love. Be encouraged that we serve a forgiving Lord. Be encouraged that he loves us so much; for when we are weak on our own, then we are strong through Him and in His name.

When we allow grace to cleanse our lives, we allow the light of Christ to shine in our daily lives. Exemplifying the Lord’s beauty changes lives. Let us delight in the difficulties in knowing that the Father’s love is waiting with outstretched arms.

My, how lovely it truly is that we are children of a Father that floods our lives with His grace

Hope Boyd≫ ≫This 19-year-old gal receives the honor of calling Clarksville, TN, home. Hope Lauren is in her sophomore year at Austin Peay State University and works part-time for a local coffee shop inside of a beautiful antique marketplace in her hometown. When she is not knee deep in the Word of God, Hope can be found grabbing coffee within a 100-mile radius (she loves to coffee shop hop) or on any trail--as she frequently takes hiking trips to the mountains in the eastern part of her beloved state. Hope will only be calling the United States home for three more months; she will be moving to Ethiopia to serve as a field director for a non-profit that advocates child sponsorship and cares for the orphans in Africa. She is thrilled to be spending her last few months in the States with the Daughter of Delight ministry and can hardly wait to see what the Lord has in store for everyone this season.
