The Lord is my light and my salvation- whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life- of whom shall I be afraid? -Psalm 27:1

I have so many fears. They cause me an unnecessary amount of anxiety. They range from simple, petty things like if and when to say hello to an approaching passerby while I’m on a walk, to existential wondering of my creation and if I’m doing it right. It is amazing to me that these thoughts all come from the same head and often at the same moment.

These fears are such strongholds of the wrong kind. The Lord is the stronghold of my life! Not these insignificant worries! He holds my whole life in his incredible and capable hands! I will not fear!
If I am looking to Him for His guidance, He will always light my path, giving me the next step and then the next step after that. But I have to trust Him.

When I am trusting the very God who made me and breathed life into me for the purpose of glorifying Him, who is always good? Whom shall I fear, indeed?
