The Sovereign Lord is my strength; He makes my feet like the feet of a deer, He enables me to tread on the heights. -Habakkuk 3:19

He makes my feet like the feet of a deer? That sounds like a strange illustration doesn't it?
Let me tell you something about deer feet: The way God created them allows the deer to move nimbly, protect themselves, and stand firm on tricky terrain.

When we look to Him and seek Him, our way becomes more clear. We are sure-footed on uneven, muddy and even rocky ground, because our confidence is in Him.

I love that our God uses the things we know about to describe His relationship with us. What a good, good Father He is to help us understand.

If you ever come across an illustration in the bible that you don't understand, I would encourage you to dig in to find out what it means. The answers are even more beautiful than you may realize!
