How do you know if you are walking in God’s path?

It’s a big question, and one that I have spent a lot of time thinking about lately. In fact, I spent most of the past year asking God questions, praying for change – the right change – meditating, thinking, overthinking, and praying that I don’t make a choice that will make me stray from His path. I believe we are supposed to be thoughtful, after all, we are told A simple man believes anything, but a prudent man gives thought to his steps, (Proverbs 14:15, NIV). At some point, though, you have to stop thinking, stop hesitating, and just take the step. Although it may not look like the path you pictured, it doesn’t mean it isn’t His. So how do you know you are walking in God’s path? For me, it means moving forward, however slowly, in prayer and thanksgiving, constantly asking for his guidance and believing that if I get off course, His hand will lead me back in His time.

Although the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, your teachers will be hidden no more; with your own eyes you will see them. Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it.” Isaiah 30:20-21 (NIV)
