Maybe you’re like me and your natural tendency is to rely on what you do or don’t do for God.
Maybe you find yourself doubting God’s love for you because of something you’ve done.

I pray the Holy Spirit breathes life into your soul as you read these words.

“Christianity is not about my disciplined pursuit of God, but about God’s relentless pursuit of me – to the point of dying on the cross to be my friend.” – Peter Scazzero

…For the joy set before him, he endured the cross, scorning its shame… - Hebrews 12:2 (NIV)

Jesus willingly went to the cross for you. Jesus made a way for you. Jesus overcame sin and shame for you. Jesus’ work is enough for you. He did it all for you, so you don’t have to.

So today, if you find yourself under the weight of how you’re measuring up for God, or how you’re pursuing God, fix your eyes on Jesus and remember all that he has done for you. It’s not about how you pursue God, but rather how God is relentlessly pursuing you. Quit the weary pursuit and rest in what Jesus has done for you.
