Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
-Matthew 7:7-8(NIV)

Ask.
The Greek word is aiteo which means to request or petition. The word usually describes making a request of someone in a higher position, such as a child to a parent. The word ask denotes insistent asking without qualms, not "commanding" God, but solidly presenting a request for items He longs to distribute.

Have you ever noticed that children have this beautiful way of asking for things? They ask without any inhibition, doubt, worry, or fear, as they ask for the moon and more. This is also the way God desires and designed us to ask Him as well. We are called to ask as a child, fearless and bold, and to keep asking with the promise and reassurance that it's what the Father longs to distribute in the first place.

Think about how little a place fear holds in our lives if our conversations with the Lord are founded in the truth that we can come to Him knowing He desires to not only give us His best, but for us to ask for His best.

May we not loose heart as we keep asking, keep seeking, and keep knocking with the abandonment of childlike faith, for it is His very nature and Word to release His goodness to us.
