Some days are just hard.

Some days, there seems to be no way around situations...no answer, no end in sight.

Those are the days that show who we really are.

Do we persevere through the situation? Do we keep looking and searching for the answer? Do we go in faith, not knowing when it will end?

Or do we give up?

I’m craving an adventure, so I’ve been praying and asking God to lead me on one, and He most certainly did.
See, I asked Him for an adventure, but I was thinking in terms of flying to New York, Nashville, Italy, London- basically the world. And I know that His plans are far greater than my own, but the adventure that I’m catching a glimpse of is absolutely nothing like I pictured and entirely too much like a storm. And I don’t like storms.

I’ve heard that being in the eye of a physical storm is the calmest part, the safest part.

The same can be said of a spiritual storm. Because in the center of all of life’s problems, all of life’s ups and downs, twists and turns, there is a Father who stands with us- strong, mighty, calm, and safe.
And it is in those moments that He carries us through.

One of my favorite short stories is called “Footprints”. It walks us through the story of a man going over his life at the end with Jesus. He saw all the good and in the sand, there were two sets of footprints- one his own, one Jesus’. But during the bad times of his life there was only one set and he questioned why Jesus would leave him all alone. When he asked Jesus, he got this answer: “There was only one set of footprints because it was then that I carried you." Hindsight is 20/20. We won’t be able to tell much from in the moment. When we look back over our lives, over the rough storms we will see that we were different than when we walked in, that the storm changed, and molded us into who we are. We will be able to see that yes, there was only one set of footprints.

But those footprints were there through the good and the bad, and they never left.
So be encouraged!

If you are in the same place I am, looking at the adventure ahead of you as a storm, then know that God is lifting you into His arms and walking you through.

We are perfectly safe.
