Daily Delight

There was a season earlier in the year when I wasn’t sure who I was, where I was going, or even what I wanted to do with my life.

It’s easy to allow shame and depression to become friends in these seasons. It’s easy to feel like everything is happening to you and you have no say in the matter.
One day, the Lord spoke to me, "Katherine, you don’t have to be a victim anymore, you have a voice.” A voice? I felt too weak to have a voice. But in the midst of my doubt, I couldn't deny my Creator reminding me of the truth that I have a say and a voice. I don’t have to be a victim of life’s circumstances and be tossed by the waves it can bring, and I don’t have to entertain the voices that try to silence my voice. My God did something about that a long time ago and because of that I’m no longer a victim, but I have a voice to say no.

Writing for Daughter of Delight came as a huge blessing in my life in that season, and through it God has instilled strength and confidence to know that even in the midst of brokenness God has something to say through me and with me. His faithfulness leads us to the things we are made for even when we can’t see where we are going. Even in a storm we have a voice and God can use us.

My writings have a common thread of redemption through them because that’s been my story and voice in this season. God can and will take whatever we offer to Him and make it something beautiful, even if all we can offer is a sigh. We have a voice that is not meant to be silenced, but a voice meant to tell the story of what it looks like to follow Jesus. And if He can use this normal-almost-thirty-Nashville girl, then He can use you. Step out, let your voice ring out! You hold a story that someone needs to hear and you my friend, carry God in a way that no other person on this earth does and the world deserves to hear your voice and your story!

Acts 18:9-10 says, One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision and told him, 'Don’t be afraid! Speak out! Don’t be silent! For I am with you…'
