For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power, love & self-control. – 2 Timothy 1:7

Why is it that most things we feel the Lord our God is calling us to do requires going out of our comfort zone? We first respond with fear. Fear of the unknown, failing, disappointment. What we are being taught here though, is to be comfortable with being uncomfortable in our faith. Trusting the Lord means putting your fear in Him ALONE- to accept the unknown. It’s easy to get so sunk into a mild-Christian lifestyle, that we let go of that drive to listen and respond to God’s voice. I challenge all of us believers to step out of our comfort zone in whatever area we feel God is calling us to. Take that next step, have that conversation, begin that next chapter in your life, accept the unknown, take that opportunity. If it agrees with scripture, repeats itself during prayer, makes you stronger and requires you to go out of your comfort zone- Then God is speaking to you. If Jesus can walk on water, what can He not do?
