When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. (John 11:43-44)

Lazarus was not kind of dead, he was 4-days dead and in the Jewish tradition they believed this was beyond the point a person could be resurrected. However, Jesus used this hopeless situation as an opportunity to show His power was not limited to natural laws and He is still in the business of raising the dead to life today!

Before I gave my life to Jesus I was a hot mess! I was verbally and emotionally abusive to my husband, I was fueled by rage, I was an alcoholic, I had an affair and I was one signature away from my marriage ending in divorce. I was running down a path of destruction as quickly as my feet could carry me. In the natural it looked like I was completely beyond the point of no return, it looked hopeless for me and it looked like my life was beyond resurrection. Dead...I felt dead inside, but Jesus had another plan for my life. I can relate to Lazarus because I feel like Jesus stood in front of my tomb and yelled, "Raema! Come out!" and I finally stepped into real life, life that is only found in Him. He took someone so broken, lost and hopeless and He breathed life into me.

It doesn't matter how "dead" you think you are or how far you think you have drifted from God, Jesus is calling you back to life. There is no pit too deep, sin to dirty or life too lost for the reach of Jesus. In verse 45 it says, Therefore many of the Jews who had come to visit Mary, and had seen what Jesus did, believed in him. The miracle of bringing a man back from the dead lead "MANY" to believe in Jesus. Your life is and can be a testimony of God's goodness, mercy, redemption, grace and resurrection power. People will hear what Jesus did for YOU and it will cause them to believe in Him as well. Don't be afraid of your testimony, people need to hear it! They need to know they too qualify for forgiveness and transformation, God wants to use you as a walking billboard to display His extravagant grace.
