Some days, we ugly cry...we do. It seems like our eyes are little pressure valves that have to release the build up in our spirits every once in a while. You know... those days that our hearts feel heavy.

Today has been one of those days for me. I decided to break off a dating relationship, and any way you slice it, that is always going to be heartbreaking. Either way, someone ends up hurt or disappointed. And as usual, the enemy has swept in to lie to me, to accuse me, and to make me feel guilty (it's what he does best). In the midst of the grief and emotional turmoil, God has reminded me that He has gone before me even in this relationship. You see, He is the ultimate comforter and healer and has been sitting on ready to swoop in and to care for my battle wounds. In fact, He even remind me of that in His precious love letter to me, "He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds," (Psalm 147:3, MSG).

I love that I have a Father in heaven that loves me enough to wrap me up in His arms and make my healing a priority. He doesn't make me nurse myself back to health; He swoops in and works fervently to heal my heart and my wounds.

If you're like me, you may be experiencing a wound of some sort today. But sisters, I beg you to invite the Father to come in and to heal you. He will heal the obvious wounds and the underlying issues that you didn't even know existed. He is our advocate and our Great Physician. Let's choose today to let Him turn our hurt into wholeness, our brokenness into brilliance, and our pain into purpose. Healing is on the horizon.
