I’ve been tired lately...physically, mentally, spiritually. Fighting an unseen battle as well as the battles that are raging all around us. The exhaustion is overwhelming, and I just try to keep my head above the water. Anyone else with me? Leaving the immediate struggles, even for just a while, was enticing and the trip I was planning seemed like a Godsend. And then I opened my Bible. I read these words from Jesus, “Come to Me all who labor and are heavy-laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28, ESV).
Rest. It’s exactly what I need, exactly what I’m craving. Rest.
This world is going crazy, but that’s to be expected! And as believers, we should be excited because it means Jesus is coming soon!

But it also means that it makes living here more and more difficult, making rest a rarity.

“I will give you rest”. The words are reverberating through my heart. He didn’t just say that He gives rest, He was specific. He will give me rest, He will give you rest.

And you know what the best part is? His rest is better than any other rest. It beats the spa, a massage, a day spent doing nothing. His rest is so much better than any other rest you could possibly get!

So sweet friend, are you craving rest? Are you tired from everything going on around you, in your life, in the world? Yeah, me too. Let us take on a much needed challenge together. When we’re starting to feel tired, let’s ask Him for His rest. When exhaustion is sweeping over us, let’s lean into Him and His words. Let’s grasp hold of His promise, “I will give you rest”.
