"So I recommend having fun, because there is nothing better for people in this world than to eat, drink, and enjoy life. That way they will experience some happiness along with all the hard work God gives them under the sun" (Ecclesiastes 8:15)

How beautiful are those words!? I’ve read and reread this so many times in recent weeks. It struck a chord.

Does anyone else struggle with celebrating the wins in light of all of the pain in our world? I do. It’s tough to feel we can celebrate when there’s so much pain that hasn't been touched.

To take that a step further, do you ever feel guilty for celebrating and having the spotlight on you, on what's going well in your world?

There’s a correlation to age, I think. The older we get, the more we steer clear of celebrating more. Guess what? It isn’t a checklist; it’s not that one individual can only celebrate a birthday a year, a wedding, a job promotion or two or a graduation in a lifetime. There is so much more in life to celebrate, literally all of the time. Big and small.

Too often we don’t allow ourselves the opportunity to celebrate. Well, friends, the good news is that is precisely what we should be doing -- even scripture says so! (#winning)

Find the time to celebrate. Whether it’s big or small, celebrate the goodness and make it loud, all the while giving thanks for both the joy and the pain provided in our days.
