Remember and Ask for More: Trusting God’s Faithfulness in Every Season
Scripture tells us more than two hundred times to remember.
Remember the goodness of God.
Remember when He showed up in ways you did not expect.
Remember the prayers He has already answered.
Throughout Scripture, remembering is not passive. It is a spiritual practice that strengthens faith. When the Lord spoke to Israel, He continually reminded them to remember where they had been and what He had done for them. He delivered them from Egypt, provided manna in the wilderness, and brought them into the land He promised. Remembering was the pathway to trusting Him again.
God calls us to remember because when we look back, we see His faithfulness clearly. But remembering is not the end. Remembering becomes an invitation to trust that God is not finished.
God has more.
God Is Able to Do More Than We Can Imagine
Paul teaches this truth in Ephesians 3:20, declaring that God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power at work within us. The context shows that Paul is not speaking of shallow abundance or earthly gain, but of the divine work God accomplishes through the Spirit.
God can be trusted in every season, the comfortable ones and the painful ones. His plans stretch beyond anything we can dream or think up ourselves. Our role is not to figure everything out. Our role is to be faithful and to trust that He will accomplish the “more” He intends.
Approaching God with Confidence
In Ephesians 3:12, Paul reminds believers that in Christ, we have full access to come before God with freedom and confidence. This is not a timid approach. This is bold, dependent faith.
We can come with open hands and say:
Lord, I want more of You. More of Your presence. More of Your power. More of Your direction.
Strength That Comes from the Holy Spirit
In Ephesians 3:14–16, Paul models the posture of a surrendered heart:
“I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being.”
The word for “power” here, dunamis, refers to an active, dynamic strength. This is not human endurance or determination. It is the supernatural strength of God alive within us.
There will be days when you feel discouraged or weary. Days when the “more” God has for you feels heavier than expected. Yet God does not abandon His people. He sustains what He calls forth. He equips His people for Kingdom purposes and provides what is needed to fulfill them.
Surrender and Ask for More
So today, instead of muscling through or trying to fix everything yourself, pause and surrender.
Pray this prayer with me today:
Lord, I cannot do this without You. Strengthen me with Your power. Use me for Your purposes. I am asking You for more. In Jesus’ holy and precious name, Amen.
